West Layton Village Will NOT Be a Daybreak, Says City Planner

West Layton Utah has been targeted for its farmland and if allowed this wide open space, just a mile away from the nature conservancy/bird refuge, could be rezoned to allow nearly 100 acres of high-density residential housing, hotels and other urban areas. This could be the single largest collection of apartments and commercial area in all of Layton. The area being sought after is smack dab in the middle of dozens of farms, a city park, and nearby wetlands. The city planner, Peter Matson, recently said at a city planning commission meeting that "West Layton Village will NOT be a [mini] Daybreak". This may be news to some city residents as the planning commission has repeatedly referred to touring Daybreak while discussing the Village Center Plan.
